ELA 10–Today we began the “Challenges” unit by discussing the experience of a man trying to overcome brain cancer.  The questions on this story are due Monday.   Remember to think about ideas for your power-point presentation on someone facing a challenge.  Keep in mind that it can be a presentation on someone you know, or it can be based on a celebrity.

ELA 9–Thursday, November 30, 2006

ELA 9–Today we began by reading our library novels.  Then, we discussed the positive points of the narrative paragraphs that the students wrote.  We also looked at the common errors that students made.  Many students did very well on the assignment with a number of people scoring 18/20 or higher.  Many students are paying closer attention to detail and are avoiding spelling and punctuation errors.  Keep up the good work!!! Finally, we read chapters thirteen and fourteen and worked on the questions and vocabulary.  See Monday’s (November 27) blog entry for a copy of the questions and vocabulary.  ***These questions are due Monday.  There will be a homework check.
